When to go
The best time to visit Florida is November through April, the dry season, when highs run in the 70s and 80s F with low humidity and the hurricane risk is off the table.
Florida's real seasons are wet and dry, and the dry one, roughly November through April, is the whole reason the state fills up every winter. Highs sit in the 70s and 80s F, humidity drops, mosquitoes fade, and the Everglades hits its prime as wildlife concentrates around shrinking water. Within that window, timing is about dodging crowds: mid January and early February are calm and cheap, while spring break stretches from late February through mid April.
Summer is the honest tradeoff season. June through September brings drenching humidity, mid 90s F heat indexes, daily afternoon thunderstorms, and the heart of hurricane season, which peaks in August and September. Theme parks and beaches still run, and deals are real, but you are trading comfort and a little weather risk for them. If summer is your window, go early June and buy trip insurance.
